The Mother of Invention Acting School is led by Andrew Utter, a director and graduate of the Yale School of Drama directing program. The School offers a 10 week Essentials class, in which students are introduced to an approach to acting taught at the Yale School of Drama. The goal of the approach is for the actor to become viscerally engaged and thus truly compelling. Students work on one scene for ten weeks, which affords them the opportunity to examine the scene, the role, the circumstances, and the needs of the character, and to effectively bring that understanding to their work.
