Bad Host creates theatre that questions the day-to-day interactions of the world we live in, and examines compelling themes and situations in the UK. We create collaboratively using a mix of new writing, devising, and improvisation. We formed in 2011 with a desire to create engaging narratives in immersive and interactive performance. Our first theatre show took its inspiration from graffiti found in public toilets. Occupied took shape as a series of one-on-one encounters exploring the peculiar intimacy of the ladies’ toilets. Using the unique source material of toilet graffiti, we developed dozens of characters and theatrical scenarios and confined them to a toilet cubicle. Our second theatre show When the Lions Drink constructs an image of a flooded London. The audience are drawn into a theatrical underwater graveyard of ghosts through poetry, sea shanties, and physical performance. more info >>
